Salon and parlour marketing on Google and WhatsApp: rebooking, reviews and the festive rush
Book the next visit before the client leaves the chair
The easiest booking to get is the one you ask for while the client is still in the chair, happy with the result. Before you take payment, suggest a date based on how long their cut, colour or treatment usually lasts, and write it in your diary or booking app while they watch.
- Offer two specific slots, not "come back soon".
- If they are not sure, ask whether you can send a WhatsApp reminder closer to the time, and note the answer.
- For colour, keratin and bridal clients, book the follow-up or the trial before they leave.
A WhatsApp rebooking message you can send
English
Hi [Name], it's [Your name] from [Salon name]. It's been about [weeks] weeks since your [service]. Would you like us to keep a slot for you? We have [day, time] or [day, time] free this week. Just reply with the one that suits you.
Hinglish
Namaste [Name] ji, [Salon name] se [Your name]. Aapki [service] ko lagbhag [weeks] hafte ho gaye hain. Kya aapke liye slot rakh dein? Is hafte [day, time] ya [day, time] khaali hai. Jo time theek lage, bas reply kijiye.
Send it only to clients who said yes to reminders, and stop as soon as anyone asks you to.
Festive and wedding season
Bookings bunch up before festivals and through the wedding season. Plan a few weeks ahead:
- Post an update or an offer on your Google profile with the dates you are taking bookings for.[4]
- Set special hours on your profile for festival days, so nobody turns up to a closed shutter.[3]
- Open bridal trial slots early and say clearly how to book them.
- Ask every bride and guest for a review the same way you ask everyone else, with no gift attached.[5]
Photos and Reels: show the work
Clients choose a salon by looking at its work. Your Google profile can hold both photos and short videos: Google accepts videos of up to 30 seconds, and asks that photos be in focus, well lit and free of heavy filters.[2]
- Post before-and-after shots only with the client's permission.
- Short clips you already make for Reels can go on your profile if they are 30 seconds or less.[2]
- Set a cover photo that shows the space, and keep your logo current.[2]
- Add new photos after the festive and bridal season, so the profile shows recent work.
No-show and late-arrival reviews, in your salon's voice
These reviews are common and easy to get wrong. Say the policy in one line, stay warm, and move the rest to a call.
Hi [Name], we're sorry the missed-appointment charge upset you. We keep that slot empty for you and turn other clients away, which is why the charge exists. If something came up, call [Salon name] on [number] and we'll look at it with you.
[Name], we're sorry your [service] couldn't go ahead. When a client arrives more than [X] minutes late, a full [service] runs into the next booking. We'd love to see you again; call [number] and ask for [name] to fix a time.

What a new client checks first
Recent reviews and recent replies tell a new client the salon is active. In BrightLocal's 2026 survey of US consumers, 74% said they only care about reviews written in the last three months.[1] Reply to the week's reviews every week, and keep photos current.

Frequently asked questions
When should I ask a client to rebook?
Before they leave, while you are taking payment. Suggest a date based on how long their service usually lasts, and offer two specific slots.
Can I ask brides for a Google review?
Yes, the same way you ask every client: one message with your review link, sent after the event, with no gift or discount attached.
Should I post festive offers on Google?
Yes, if the offer is real and the dates are clear. Google checks each post against its posts policy after you publish it.
Can I give clients a discount for leaving a review?
Not for Google reviews. See the rules on asking for reviews.
