Car and two-wheeler garage reviews: price disputes, old parts and service reminders
Most price disputes start at the counter
A review about overcharging is usually written after a surprise. Most surprises can be stopped before the vehicle goes in.
- Write the estimate on the job card and give the customer a copy or a photo on WhatsApp.
- If you find more work once the vehicle is open, call or send a photo before you do it, and wait for a yes.
- Say whether parts are original or alternatives, and what the price difference is.
- Hand over the bill with a one-line explanation of each extra item.
Old parts: the reply that builds trust
Many complaints come down to one question: did the part really need changing? Offer to show the old part, and keep replaced parts for a few days where you can.
English
[Name], thank you for asking about the parts we changed. We keep replaced parts for [number] days so customers can see them. Please come by or call [number], and we'll show you the old [part] and why it was replaced.
Hinglish
[Name] ji, badle hue parts ke baare mein poochne ke liye shukriya. Hum yeh parts [number] din tak rakhte hain, taaki customer khud dekh sakein. [Number] par call kijiye ya garage aaiye, hum purana [part] aur use badalne ki wajah dikha denge.

Service reminders on WhatsApp
A customer whose bike or car you serviced is the most likely person to come back, if you remind them at the right time. Ask at handover whether they want a reminder, and note the answer.
English
Hi [Name], this is [Garage name]. Your [bike/car] is due for its [service] around [date]. Reply with a day that suits you and we will keep a slot.
Hinglish
Namaste [Name] ji, [Garage name] se. Aapki [bike/car] ki [service] [date] ke aas-paas due hai. Jo din theek lage, reply kijiye, hum slot rakh denge.
Send reminders only to customers who agreed, and stop when anyone asks.
Seasonal checks to post on your profile
Google posts can be updates, offers or events, and Google reviews each post after you publish it.[1] Seasonal checks give you something useful to post:
- Before the monsoon: brakes, tyres, wipers and lights.
- Before summer: car AC and coolant.
- Before festival travel: a long-trip check for cars and bikes.
- After heavy rain: a check for vehicles that stood in water.
Answering a price-dispute review in public
- Thank them, and acknowledge the surprise without arguing over each line.
- Never post the registration number, phone number or bill in the reply.
- Offer to go through the bill in person or on a call.
- Say what you are changing only if it is true, for example calling before any extra work.

Frequently asked questions
How should a garage reply to a review claiming it overcharged?
Stay calm, don't quote the bill in public, acknowledge the surprise, and offer to go through it in person or by phone.
Should I show customers the old parts?
If you can, yes. Offering to show the replaced part is one of the clearest ways to answer a doubt about whether it needed changing.
What can a garage post on Google?
Seasonal checks, service offers, new services and changed timings, with a clear photo where you have one.
